Pseudomembranous colitis

Clostridium difficile is a gram-positive anaerobic bacillus that causes a broad spectrum of clinical symptoms ranging from mild diarrhea to severe pseudomembranous colitis. C. difficile can be transmitted by the fecal-oral route from person to person and instrument to patient.
